A Message from the Principal
To help a student develop skill and understanding of music, their instrument and performance is a great responsibility we at Menai Music are proud to provide every student that walks through the door. No matter if you simply want to play at home and impress your family or take the first step in the many steps it takes to become a professional musician our teaching staff not only talk the talk but walk the walk every day in this exciting, always changing and fun industry. I hope you enjoy checking out the Menai Music site and I look forward to meeting you soon
Kind Regards,
Live Performance Opportunities
Menai Music students actively participate in ‘LIVE’ performances at local fetes, fairs and market days. All Menai Music Staff are actively performing ‘LIVE’ on a regular basis. It is this experience, knowledge and skill they impart to each student that makes Menai Music stand apart from other music schools. Stay tuned to the Menai Music Facebook page and ‘like’ us for updates on our next ‘LIVE’ performance.
Song Writing and Recording
Craig Woodward the principal and founder of Menai Music is an accomplished musician and song writer based in the Sutherland Shire. His experience as a song writer and producer has been most recently applauded with a top 20 finalist spot in the APRA 2013 Artist Development Awards. He has received national and OS airplay for the first single off his debut record ‘Bondi Smile’ and knows what it takes to take a song from a miss to a hit! If you sit with a swag of songs you want to record or simply need help to start song writing from the beginning to the end Craig would love to work with you.
To hear some of Craig’s works go to Craig’s Website and check out his Album sampler on the ‘Media’ Page.
Annual Music Showcase
June every year is a special time for Menai Music as it is the time where all Menai Music students get to be ‘STARS’ for the night. We give our students an opportunity to perform in front of their parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and friends. It’s a non-threatening ‘FUN-FIRST’ approach to performance that encompasses all the elements of ‘LIVE’ performance, including practice, delivery, dress, stylistic interpretation, presentation, stage craft and team building.
The public are more than welcome to come along and see what great local talent we have in Menai and the surrounding areas that will hopefully inspire your child or inner musician to come join the school and learn with Menai Music.
